The God of all Comfort

As most of you know one of our Frontliners, Gini Orange, was murdered last week. I never had the privilege of knowing her on this side of heaven but as I have been praying and reading her facebook page, talking with her mother, interacting with her small group and friends you really learn how amazing Gini’s Savior is. It is amazing for me to hear of how Gini radiated the love of Christ. You could tell by her picture that her smile was full of life but not life that is focused on this world but life eternal.
Lord, thank you for working in and through Gini’s life. We have heard of her great faith in you and of her love for all the saints – her faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for her in heaven. (taken from Col 1:4-5)
She is experiencing the fulfillment of that promise right now.
On Sunday night I got an opportunity to see God comforting His children. As we where ending the service with a few worship songs I looked to my right and I saw Gini’s mom and small group standing right next to me. Gini’s small group was praising the Lord with hands held high and I looked through the raised hands I saw Gini’s mom. She was interacting with her Father, her comforter, her provider. The God she has placed all of her trust in was saying “I got her, don’t worry, she is safe with me. You will see her again.” The peace on her mothers face is one that the bible speaks of in Phil 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. She, just like Gini, radiates the love of Christ.
We will all go through trials is this life but please know your COMFORTER, He will never hold back from comforting His children in the midst of trials. But you must ask for it so please remember 2 Cor. 1:3-5 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.”
To Gini and her mom our congregation will not soon forget the examples you have set for us.

I just saw Gini at the FIA Golf Outing in Chicago. She put on a great event where even a Convertible Mercedes was given away for a hole in one. An event everyone will remember. She was so well liked by everyone there.
We will all miss her and many are shocked to hear of her tragedy and the news is moving rapidly throughout the business community. As the song says “only the good die young”.
I pray for her family and friends for all their sorrow.
